A recreation of the beautiful Taj Mahal. This mounemnt is considered the finest example of Mughal architecture, a style that combines elements from Persian, Turkish, Indian, and Islamic architectural styles. In 1983, the Taj Mahal became a UNESCO World Heritage Site and was cited as "the jewel of Muslim art in India and one of the universally admired masterpieces of the world's heritage." It is also one of the New Seven Wonders of the World (as of 2007). For this piece, we used a total of 3,068 U.S. pennies. The piece measures approximately 40" x 40" (100cm x 100cm). Our Taj Mahal work is the third segment of a larger project that is yet to come. |
